Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 7, 2026

Neutral Sound LLC ("we" or "us") operates the Neutral Tracks application and the website at neutralsound.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to say plainly what we do.

The short version

  • We only get your email if you choose to give it to us.
  • Our analytics are cookieless by default and run on our own domain — no third-party trackers, no advertising, no data sales.
  • We keep only what we need. We never store your raw IP address in analytics, and we delete it from your signup record within 90 days.
  • Your projects and audio never leave your computer.
  • You can see or delete your data at any time by emailing us.

1. What we collect

Email address

When you sign up on the website, we collect your email address. This is voluntary. We use it to send product updates, access information, and account emails. We also record optional UTM parameters from the link you arrived through, and derive your approximate location (country, region, and city) and language from your IP address. We keep the raw IP address only to prevent fraud and abuse, and delete it within 90 days; the coarse location is kept as ordinary analytics.

Your projects and audio

Neutral Tracks is a desktop application. Your projects, audio files, and plugin settings stay on your computer. We never receive them, and they are never uploaded to us.

Crash reports

When the application hits an error, it sends a crash report so we can fix it. Reports contain technical details (stack traces, audio configuration, plugin names, transport state) but no personal data, file paths, or project content. An anonymous identifier links reports across sessions without identifying you.

Usage analytics

We collect usage analytics to understand how features are used, measure audio quality, and improve the product — feature-usage events, session length, and performance metrics. These do not include your name, email, or project content. On the website, analytics are cookieless by default (see below). In the application, analytics are consent-based: you choose whether to opt in on first launch and can change it in Settings at any time.

We collect these events through our own domain (e.neutralsound.com) rather than loading a third-party tracker in your browser.

2. How we use it

  • Email — to send product updates, access information, and account and purchase emails.
  • Approximate location — for analytics and to help prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Crash reports — to find and fix bugs.
  • Usage analytics — to understand what's used and improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Cookies and tracking

Our website analytics are cookieless by default — they store nothing in your browser and set no analytics cookie, so every visit is counted without tracking you across visits. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our infrastructure provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance; those are required for the site to work.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it as a request to opt out and collect no analytics from your visit.

4. Who we share it with

We rely on a small number of service providers to operate. Each receives only what it needs, and each processes data under its own privacy terms. Our providers process data in the United States.

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, DDoS protection, and our backend database. Processes requests and stores account data.
  • Resend — sends our email. Receives your email address.
  • Paddle — our payment processor and merchant of record. Receives your payment and billing details when you buy.
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting. Receives technical error data only.
  • PostHog — product analytics. Receives cookieless usage events with no name, email, or project content.

5. How long we keep it

  • Email — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Raw IP address — deleted within 90 days.
  • Crash reports — 90 days.
  • Usage analytics tied to your account — removed or anonymized when you delete your account.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. Email us at the address below and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights, and we honor all applicable requests — including the right not to have your personal information sold or shared, which we don't do in the first place.

7. Children's privacy

Neutral Tracks is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 18, you may only use it under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
