Waveform
The Waveform view is an oscilloscope. Both channels draw over each other, the left in the track’s colour and the right in green, with the signal’s full amplitude and room above ±1.0 for what lies between samples.
- Free-run scrolls the newest signal in from the right. Triggered holds the picture still on a rising zero crossing, so a repeating sound sits in one place.
- View sets the span: 50 ms, 200 ms, 1 s, or 5 s in time, or 1/4 bar to 8 bars in the song’s own tempo, which follow a tempo change at once.
- Reset Display Settings returns both to the Analyzer’s defaults.
At long spans every column is the loudest and quietest sample it covers, so a transient never disappears between pixels. At short spans the line passes through the samples themselves, and at the shortest it is the signal a converter would output between them, which is why a hot peak can show above 1.0: that is the inter-sample level true peak measures.
